If you are creating your job category pages yourself in the new JobShop frontend, there are a few important points to keep in mind. To ensure the migration goes smoothly and your new pages are set up optimally, we have compiled the most important notes for you.
Page Structure
A well-structured page supports user navigation and improves conversion. A simple category page is ideally set up as follows:
Start module → Category description text → Job module → Benefits → Anchor module with call-to-action
Optimizing Background Images for Mobile
Make sure that the background images in the modules are displayed correctly on mobile devices as well. The image focus should always be set to centered so that the subject remains visible on smaller screens. Therefore, regularly switch to the mobile preview and check how things look.
Call-to-Actions (CTAs)
All CTAs should use the primary color and be worded consistently. Variations such as "Discover jobs", "View jobs" and "Apply now!" should not be mixed. Make sure the CTA text clearly communicates its purpose. Users do not expect to find job listings behind a button labeled "Learn more". Use phrasing like "View jobs" or "View positions" instead.
Anchor or Back-Navigation Element
At the bottom of the page, there should always be an anchor module with a CTA that leads back to the job module. Alternatively, you can also link to the search and filter page.
Wording and Corporate Design
The wording should match your company's industry – especially when the company has a strong marketing presence. Also, consistently adhere to the corporate design, even if alternative presentations in the editor may look more appealing at first glance.
Quality Check in the Page Editor
Before publishing, you should check the following points in the editor:
- Are the SEO page title and SEO description filled in meaningfully?
- Is a sharing image for social media stored?
- Is the setting "Should the page be discoverable by search engines?" enabled?
