In this tutorial, we explain how Matomo's Campaign Builder works and how you can create a link on your own.
Important note: The URLs for the job detail pages can also be created directly in the Recruiting Home.
Access the Campaign URL Builder
You can access Matomo's Campaign URL Builder via the link below: https://matomo.org/faq/tracking-campaigns-url-builder/
Here you will see the input mask to create a tracking link:
Creating a link
First you need the link to the page you want to track, in our example we use a job from our fictitious company Olsen&Breuner: https://olsen-breuner.job-shop.com/demo/offer/ausbildung-zum-zur-drogist-in-m-w-d/84be5e4b-5da7-55a7-882f-272be4f8c000
We first enter this link in the "Website URL" field:
Next come so-called parameters, so that the numbers that are tracked can also be assigned to the corresponding campaign.
Some of the fields are optional, others are mandatory and thus must be filled in.
Our recommendation is to fill in the following fields:
- Campaign name
- Campaign source
- Campaign medium
For example, as follows:
Afterwards the link has to be generated. To do this, click on the "Generate URL" button:
Finally, the generated link is displayed in the Step 3 field and is available for inclusion and could look like this, for example:
https://olsen-breuner.job-shop.com/demo/offer/ausbildung-zum-zur-drogist-in-m-w-d/84be5e4b-5da7-55a7-882f-272be4f8c000?mtm_campaign=test-campaign&mtm_source=instagram&mtm_medium=ppc
For clarification, we have again marked the parameters added by the Campaign Builder in bold here.
