Understanding and Making the Most of Recruiting Channels – the New Channel Performance Dashboard is Here!

Modified on Wed, 16 Sep at 5:13 PM

"Make sure you post the job on Facebook!", "We're spending way too much money on Stepstone. We need to cut the budget there.", "You should try job board x." – These are sentences recruiters hear on a daily basis when it comes to reaching the right target audience for the right job. In the end, though, real facts rarely drive the conversation – it's mostly gut feeling. Whether a channel is truly successful for a target audience, a job, or a campaign is still a gut-feel decision.

With the new Channel Performance Dashboard in the talentsconnect home of the JobShop, we're changing that and turning decisions about good or bad recruiting channels into data-driven decisions – which can ultimately save you real money.

    Details

    What's new?

With a completely new dashboard in the talentsconnect home, recruiters can now focus on evaluating, analyzing, and optimizing their recruiting channels. The new Channel Performance Dashboard includes the following features:

    • Filter channel performance by date, time period, and channel type

    • Individual channels are grouped into channel types such as search engines, AI assistants, social media, job boards, email, etc., making it possible to answer the question of whether search engines or various social media platforms deliver more success

    • Widgets display the distribution of JobShop visitors and applicants by channel type

    • Key metrics such as conversion rate, average time on site, bounce rate, and number of applications are clearly displayed per channel type

    • Recruiters can search for specific recruiting channels and campaigns to analyze performance for particular jobs and job categories

ℹ Info: Since September 2026, there is a dedicated channel type called AI Assistant – it captures traffic that reaches your JobShop via tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. Automated bot traffic is filtered out, so the numbers reflect real visitors. Some of this traffic was previously counted under "Direct Access & Unknown".

What's the benefit for you as a recruiter?

    Save real money.
With the Channel Performance Dashboard, you can analyze precisely which recruiting channels candidates and applicants are using to enter the recruiting funnel. Up-to-date daily reports show you which channels are performing above or below average. This means you can save money in the long run and shift your budget to the channels that truly deliver results. The dashboard even lets you see this on three levels: job, channel, and campaign level.

    Save valuable time.
Recruiters use various platforms, job boards, and more – and every channel has its own dashboard with its own numbers. Analyzing all these figures takes up a lot of time, but those dashboards don't tell you what actually makes it to the bottom of the funnel. The Channel Performance Dashboard aggregates these numbers and, in the case of a Fast Application, tracks them all the way through to the actual application – because what counts is the last click in the JobShop. No more digging through countless dashboards.
