Labeling AI-generated images: The "AI-generated" toggle

Since August 2, 2026, Art. 50 of the EU AI Act requires AI-generated images to be labeled if they would otherwise pass as genuine photos. In the Page Manager, you can activate an "AI-generated" toggle for each image to meet this requirement.

✖ Important – this article is the parent reference: The "AI-generated" toggle applies to every module that contains images – including Hero, module backgrounds, the card module, contact person photos, and sliders. Module-specific articles should link back to this article instead of re-explaining the labeling requirement.

What's new?

In the JobShop editor, there is now an "AI-generated" toggle for every uploaded image – both for content images and for module background images. When activated, the frontend displays a permanently visible label on the image, easy to read even on mobile devices, without a hover effect.

Which images does the labeling requirement apply to?

ℹ Info: In short: on a typical career page, this applies to almost every photorealistic image. Only logos, favicons, icons, and award badges are excluded, since they are not photorealistic and therefore fall outside the legal definition.

How to activate the label

Open the relevant page in the Page Manager.

Click the image you want to label (content image or module background).

Activate the "AI-generated" toggle in the image menu.

Save or publish the page – the label then appears automatically and remains permanently visible on the image in the frontend.

Action required

⚠ Note: Existing images do not have to be labeled retroactively – this remains voluntary. From now on, however: every time a page is published or saved again, the toggle for AI-generated images must be activated. Correct labeling is the site operator's responsibility.

Why it matters

Violations of Art. 50 of the EU AI Act can be punished with fines of up to €15 million or 3% of annual worldwide turnover. talentsconnect hosts and renders the images, but the operator of the career page is legally responsible. The toggle helps you stay compliant with minimal effort.
