Create a job

In our Recruiting Home you have the possibility to publish your job independently. In our Jobs tab you will find a list of all previously published jobs:

Here you have the option of editing them using the three dots or creating a new job using the blue button:

Clicking on the blue "Create job" button opens a window with four different areas. The job details, job description, display in the job store and the application options. You can customize your job in each of these four areas.

Job details

In the job details section you have the option of adding basic information about your job.

Job title

The job title receives the most attention across all target groups, so it must be well chosen and, above all, meaningful. It is important that the job title contains relevant keywords that users actually enter into search engines.

Keep the following recommendations in mind:

  • use titles that are as short as possible (40-60 characters) and avoid filler words, as long titles are cut off in the mobile view in particular
  • use at least three to a maximum of six keywords
  • separate keywords with spaces, "/" or "&" so that they can be better recognized by search engines
  • place relevant keywords at the beginning of the job title
  • place "(m/f/d)" at the end of the title

Subtitle

The subtitle can be used to draw users' attention to important job characteristics such as time limit, working hours, etc. at first glance. Alternatively, the subtitle can also be used for a short marketing slogan.

Company

Here you can add the company for which this job is to be published.

Location

Since the location is one of the most important selection criteria for the majority of job seekers, it is advisable to specify only one location per job posting. This makes it easier for users to make a location-based selection and apply for a specific location.

Start date

If the job still exists or is published when the specified start date is reached, "as of now" is displayed.

Weekly work time

Here you can choose between full-time and/or part-time.

Entry opportunities

Here you can add the type of job.

JobLabels

Here you can highlight your job with our labels "top job" or "unsolicited application".

Job description

You can now enter the content of your job description in the fields. Of course, the JobShop only shows users those fields in which content has been entered.

Introduction

The introduction forms the framework for your job advertisement. In this first paragraph, describe the overarching tasks the candidate will perform and how the position is embedded in your company.

  • use company-specific language to convey a first impression
  • shorten filler words that convey neither emotion nor information (also applies to the rest of the ad). Studies show that the number of your applicants can increase by up to 30% if the job ad has a maximum of 2,000 characters.

Company presentation

Describe what it is like for candidates to work for you in a maximum of 2 paragraphs.

  • summarize the most important information about your vision, industry, size and location(s)
  • highlight what sets your company apart from the competition (your culture)
  • describe team-specific details in particular (e.g. whether there is a lot of remote working, how successes are celebrated, whether there are team events, how mistakes are dealt with, how big the team is, etc.). Our data has shown that the number of applicants can be increased by providing content that is as authentic as possible.

Tasks & activities

Describe what the candidate can expect in their day-to-day work.

  • use key points and sort them by importance. Eye-tracking studies show that the first points receive significantly more attention.
  • summarize similar activities in a meaningful way and rather reduce them slightly
  • formulate the activities as complete but simple sentences instead of just using nouns ("You negotiate contracts with..." instead of "contract negotiations")
  • use action verbs ("You integrate..." instead of "You are the interface between...")
  • describe the frequency and requirement level of the activities

Profile & Requirements

Describe what makes an excellent candidate. Be aware that each requirement acts as a potential filter.

  • use key points and sort them as follows: Professional qualification, job-relevant experience, additional qualifications, languages etc., soft skills
  • if it is unavoidable to formulate more than 5 requirements, divide them into a "must" (max. 3 - 4) and a "can" category
  • alternatively: Formulate further requirements as tasks
  • formulate fewer soft skills. Some studies indicate that a long list of soft skills can have a negative effect, as it attracts candidates who tend to overestimate themselves
  • avoid empty phrases, the stringing together of buzzwords ("team player", "strong communicator") and words that can be taken negatively ("stress-resistant", "frustration tolerance").
  • pay attention to your target group. For example, if you want more female candidates for a management role, or more male candidates for an educator role, avoid gender-typical wording ("assertiveness", soccer analogies... vs. "a large family"). Various studies have shown that these subliminal messages have an enormous effect on candidates.

Offer for applicants

If you already use the Benefits module in the JobShop, you do not need this field! Otherwise, describe in 2 to 3 sentences what candidates can look forward to with you.

  • say why certain benefits are important to your company and what values it expresses with them
  • be as specific as possible with the information (e.g. number of vacation days and other contract information, but also team-specific information such as a description of the last team event)
  • if possible, give a salary range for the position. According to a large Stepstone study, 96% of candidates consider the salary important, and 60% would like at least a rough indication in the job advertisement.

Additional information for applicants

Here you can specify anything else that might be of interest to candidates. For example, you can explain whether your company would support a possible relocation or how the application process works. According to our data, the latter can increase the number of your applicants by up to 25%!

Contact information

If you already use the contact module in the JobShop, you do not need this field! Otherwise, describe how the candidates can reach you.

  • enter the name, role, email address and telephone number of the contact person
  • note the time frame in which the person can be reached by phone
