How is the WABA set up?

The WABA setup will take place in an appointment with PitchYou Support if needed. Please prepare for this in advance, as various pieces of information will be required from you.

Preparation for Setup

  • Providing a Phone Number
To register a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA), you need a free phone number that is not currently linked to a WhatsApp account. This number does not have to be a mobile number; a landline number can also be used. During the registration appointment, this number will be verified. You will either receive an SMS or a phone call for this purpose. Please make sure you can access the SMS or answer the call during the appointment.

  • Access to the Meta Business Account (formerly Facebook Business Account)
Registration requires access to your Meta Business Account. WhatsApp is part of the Meta group and is managed through this business account. Please note that PitchYou does not gain access to your Meta Business Account; the WhatsApp Business Accounts are simply linked to it.

  • Creating a 360 Dialog Profile
You will also need an email address to register with our partner 360 Dialog. This account is used to manage your WABA.

  • Linking Multiple WABAs to One Meta Business Account (optional)
It is possible to link multiple WABAs to a single Meta Business Account. This is particularly useful if PitchYou is to be used for different brands or country subsidiaries.

  • Company Information for the Profile
Please have the following information ready for each WABA:

    • Company logo: At a resolution of 640x640 pixels.

    • Short description (optional): A concise description of your company.

    • Company address (optional): The physical address of your company.

    • Email address (optional): A contact address for applicants.

    • Links (optional): The link to your careers page in the respective local language, or the link to your company website.

Setup with the PitchYou Team

  • Participants
The registration of your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) takes place with a PitchYou Support colleague. The following people from your side must participate:

    • Admin-Authorized Person: A person with administrator rights for your Meta Business Account. These permissions are typically held within the marketing team.

    • Authorized Person(s) with Access: The person(s) who have access to the device associated with the phone number to be used for the WABA. During the appointment, this phone number will be verified via SMS or a phone call. If multiple numbers are being registered, please ensure you have access to all devices.

  • Appointment Process
The WABA registration appointment takes place via Microsoft Teams with a PitchYou support colleague. Here is the process in detail:

    • Invitation and Link: During the Teams meeting, you will receive a link to set up the WABA. This link must be opened by the user with admin rights for the Meta Business Account.

    • Creating the 360 Dialog Account: An account with our partner 360 Dialog will then be created.

    • Setting Up the WhatsApp Profile: Your WhatsApp profile will be fully set up together. Please have the required information ready (see section "Preparation for the Appointment").

    • Uploading the Company Logo: In the final step, the company logo will be uploaded via your Facebook Business Account for the newly created WhatsApp Business Account. This logo will be displayed to applicants during the WhatsApp interview.

  • Duration of the Appointment
The appointment typically takes 15 to 20 minutes. However, if multiple WABAs are being registered, you should plan for more time.
